Birthday Celebration of St. Mary Euprasia

Good Shepherd Convent School, Mysore SWI, celebrated the 230th Birthday  of St. Mary Euphrasia Pelletier, Our Foundress  with great devotion, gratitude, and enthusiasm. The celebration was a beautiful tribute to the life, vision, and enduring legacy of our beloved Foundress, whose inspiring values continue to guide the Good Shepherd family.

The programme commenced with a solemn procession as the portrait of St. Mary Euphrasia was reverently carried to the stage, accompanied by a graceful prayer dance. This sacred procession created an atmosphere of prayer and reverence, reminding everyone of the Foundress' unwavering faith and her mission of love and mercy.

The celebration formally began with a warm welcome address, followed by the significance of the day, which highlighted the extraordinary life of St. Mary Euphrasia Pelletier, her selfless service, and her vision of transforming lives through compassion, reconciliation, and unconditional love.

A meaningful prayer service followed, inviting everyone to seek God's blessings and to renew their commitment to live by the values cherished by our Foundress. Through scripture, prayers, and symbolic representations, the gathering reflected on the mission of becoming instruments of peace, hope, and service.

One of the highlights of the programme was a thought-provoking skit presented by the students. The skit beautifully portrayed the core values of St. Mary Euphrasia—compassion, zeal, gratitude, protection, reconciliation, kindness, and unconditional love—through relatable scenes from everyday life. It inspired the audience to practise these timeless values in their families, schools, and communities.

The cultural segment added colour and joy to the celebration. The nursery children captivated everyone with their delightful song, while the students of both the Kannada and English Medium showcased their talents through vibrant and energetic dance performances. Their enthusiastic participation reflected the spirit of unity, creativity, and gratitude

Addressing the gathering, Sr. Molly, the Manager of the school, spoke about the relevance of St. Mary Euphrasia's teachings in today's world. She encouraged the students to embrace the Foundress' motto, "Do well all that you do," and to become compassionate, responsible, and faith-filled individuals who make a positive difference in society.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to the Management, Sisters, staff, students, parents, and everyone who contributed to the success of the celebration. The 230th Foundress Day celebration ended on a note of joy and thanksgiving, leaving the entire school community inspired to carry forward the noble mission and values of St. Mary Euphrasia Pelletier in their daily lives.
