Centenary Celebration – Good Shepherd Convent High School, Mysuru

The Centenary Celebration of Good Shepherd Convent High School, Mysuru, was held with great grandeur and joy on 31st July 2026, marking a hundred years of faith, excellence, service and empowerment. The occasion was further enhanced by the inauguration of the newly constructed Kaveri Auditorium.

Her Highness Mrs. Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, the Maharani ( Queen) of Mysuru, graced the occasion with her august presence. Rev. Dr. Francis Saravo, Bishop of Mysore, was the Chief Guest, and Sr. Lissy Chacko, Province Leader of the South West India Province, Dr.Javeed Nayeem , Alumni was also present.

Her Highness Mrs. Pramoda Devi Wadiyar the Maharani of Mysuru, fondly recalled the long- standing association between the Good Shepherd Sisters and the Royal Family. She remembered how the Sisters had taught music to members of the Royal Family, highlighting the cherished bond shared over the years.

The celebration was a beautiful blend of faith, culture and gratitude. The students presented a soulful prayer dance, followed by a vibrant mosaic of Indian culture, showcasing the richness and unity of India through colourful dances. A special highlight was the enactment of the life and mission of St. Mary Euphrasia, entitled “The Shepherdess’ Heart for the World,” which beautifully portrayed her vision, courage, compassion and missionary spirit.

The celebration brought together around 830 students, parents, alumni, guests and well-wishers, making it a truly memorable occasion. It was not merely a celebration of a hundred years, but a tribute to the rich legacy of the institution and a renewed commitment to its mission and future.

31st July 2026 will remain etched in the history of Good Shepherd Convent High School, Mysuru, as a day of gratitude, celebration and hope—a day when we honoured our glorious past, celebrated our vibrant present and looked forward with confidence to the future.
