Blessing of the new convent at Chikkahesarur Mission
We are filled with gratitude to God and it gives us immense pleasure and joy to see this day in which a dream and an aspiration have become a reality…….. Our Foundress St. Mary Euphrasia Pelletier said “The sentiments of gratitude give birth to great and noble thoughts.” And today (31st May 2023,) the great and noble thoughts have become flesh and reality. It is a great day to praise the Lord with Mary our Mother as we celebrate today the feast day of the visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Today, along with Sr. Lissy Chacko our province leader, South West India and her team we thank Right Rev. Dr. Henry D’Souza Bishop of Ballari for inviting us to begin our mission in Chikkahesarur, Ballari Diocese.

We began our inauguration and blessing of the house with a short introduction and lighting of the lamp. The solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by most Rev.Dr.Henry D’Souza bishop of Ballari. There were 15 concelebrants. After the introductory rite, we proceeded to the convent building for the inaugural ceremony and as a sign of inauguration Sr.lissy our province leader cut the ribbon and our contractor handed over the house key to the province leader. During the Homily bishop said that this house is a place of welcoming the people and we sisters are at the service of people and love them passionately. After the communion service, all the sisters and the priests accompanied bishop to our newly built oratory/Chapel for blessing of the tabernacle and the tabernacle key was handed over to Sr. Annie the Coordinator of the house.

Along with the Good Shepherd sisters , Sisters and priests from other congregations and our parishners and well-wishers were present. After the Eucharistic celebration we honored the dignitaries our Bishop, our Province Leader, Engeener, Contractor and the province leadership team by garlanding and putting the shawl. Bishop invited the community sisters and honored them. A delicious meal was served for all. It was an auspicious and meaningful day for the Good Shepherd family.
